Page 1 of 3 Kosciusko County has more than 95 lakes which provides many opportunities for water and sport activities.
There are a number of annual attractions which bring residents and
visitors out in droves. Among the most notable are the Mermaid Festival
in North Webster, and the Fourth of July festivities around Lake
Wawasee and Syracuse Lakes.
For the naturalist there is the Tri-County Fish and Wildlife area
located between Syracuse and North Webster. Amid a host of winding
gravel roads there are ten natural lakes and 3,500 acres to explore.
Kosciusko County truly has something to offer for everyone: speed
boating, water skiing, sailing, fishing, golfing, boat-in worship
services along the shore of Lake Wawasee, Art Festival at Oakwood Park
in Syracuse, and music in the park at Lakeside Park along Syracuse
lake, just to name a few.
Kosciusko County is centrally located in the northern half of Indiana
and is just 42 miles from Ft. Wayne, 118 miles from Chicago, 120 miles
from Indianapolis, 194 miles from Cincinnati, Ohio, and 202 miles from
Detroit, Michigan. Warsaw
is the county seat town and also the Orthopedic Capital of the world.
